Our Pastor's Welcome

Greetings! in the name of Jesus; welcome to First Baptist Church, Pembroke. As you’re looking at our webpage, we might presume that you’re searching for a community in which to worship, or for a Church family that will welcome you.  If that’s the case, you have come to the right place.

I, along with my wife, was called in January 2017 to serve as Pastor.  I want to say that we're thrilled and excited to be here. First has a long history and tradition of witness to the Good News of Jesus going back to 1873, and I like to say that “we’re big enough to serve you, but small enough to know you.”

You'll find the community of believers a welcoming bunch – whether you come from a church background, or you're just “young” in your faith, you can “fit in” at First.  Our families come from all walks of life, all age groups and all faith backgrounds; and whether you're young, old, single or married, everyone is welcome!  But even with all our diversity, we have one thing in common: we have committed to follow the teachings of Jesus as our Saviour and friend on this long, narrow road called “Life.”

Each Sunday morning our worship begins at 10:30, and we have something for everyone.  Our pianist leads us in music that is uplifting in its praise to God.  Each week we focus on the Bible in readings; we offer our prayers to God and we focus on a message that brings the teachings of scripture “to life,” that they may be applied to our lives in a relevant and fresh way.

So, if you are tired of all the bad news out there – in the paper, on radio, t.v. or the internet - why not join us this Sunday morning and give your spirit a boost with some Good News?

We're easy to find at the corner of Mary and Moffat Streets (click on the Directions link on the homepage). Take this as your personal invitation; we look forward to seeing you and come as you are (we don’t have a dress code): you’ll “Fit in" at First!

In Christ,
