Mother's Day and Baptist Women Sunday, 2019

posted May 13, 2019, 9:31 AM by Wayne Sollows

Mother's day was a great one at First; all mother's received a carnation and the ladies were encouraged to wear their Spring hats.  We arrayed photos of our mom's on the Communion table as well. We also celebrated Baptist Women Sunday and our ladies took over the service and as our guest we had Rev. Julie Ann Morton bring the message.  Coffee, tea and conversation were shared before everyone headed out to treat their mothers to lunch or dinner.

Pray for Christians in Sri Lanka

posted Apr 23, 2019, 9:06 AM by Wayne Sollows

After the horrific murder of over 300 Christians on Easter weekend, please pray for the Christians in Sri Lanka, and other persecuted Christians throughout the world.  The Islamic terrorists have not heard the words of Jesus:  "The Gates of Hell will not prevail against his church"  (Matthew 16:18).

Christian Flag - fly it with Pride!

posted Apr 23, 2019, 8:56 AM by Wayne Sollows

In a world where many have a flag they fly to demonstrate their Pride, Christians can look to their flag to wave and show where their (heart) allegiance lies..

Christian Flag
The Christian Flag is an ecumenical flag designed in the early 20th century to represent all of Christianity and Christendom. Since its adoption by the Federal Council of Churches in 1942, it has been used by many Christian traditions, especially those of Protestant origin, including the Anglican, Baptist, Mennonite, Moravian, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Quaker, Reformed, and Methodist among others. Africa and the Americas are regions of the world where the flag remains popular. The flag has a white field, with a red Latin cross inside a blue canton. The shade of red on the cross symbolizes the blood that Jesus shed on Calvary. The blue represents the waters of baptism as well as the faithfulness of Jesus. The white represents Jesus' purity. The dimensions of the flag and canton have no official specifications.
